Project 1: Fettuccine Truss Bridge (Model Testing)
This project I had learn how to built up the truss by combining of three or more members which being pinned and hinged at the joints. Fettuccine is a type of tension member which mean need to design a type of truss that benefit on tension instead compression. We had create around 5mock up truss bridge before we decided to design a final bridge which enable to hold more load of the water.
In a group, you are required to design and construct a fettucini bridge of 350mm clear span and maximum weight of 80g. These requirements are to be met, or else it may result in reduction of grade. The bridge will be then tested to fail.
Project 1 : Fettuccine Truss Bridge (Report)
After design a final bridge, we need to make a report of what we had research on which can be refer on the slide below. The content will be explain the material attributes and the analysis of the bridge that had ability to perform structural analysis of the bridge correctly and able to identify and strengthen critical members of the truss.
Project 2: Extension of a R.C. Bungalow
This project is a demonstration of knowledge and understanding of building structure on wall, column, slab and beam. I also had learn to enable to have a holistic experience including concept and structural layout design, building structure enginerring considerations, structure members sizing and calculations. We had decided to choose a bungalow which can be shown in the slide. Then we start measured and analysis which type of material and sizr to be used in the building from the foundation to the roof.
